The Indian Born Author Salman Rushdie Received Dead Threats From Iran in the 1980s

On Friday Morning in western New York, he was stabbed in the neck and abdomen.

Rushdie was transported to a local hospital by helicopter.

Hadi Matar, 24, of Fairview, New Jersey, has been identified as the suspect in custody.
